Aggregation is the process through which a hierarchical relationship is established between different levels of serialized packaging (i.e. carton, case, or pallet).

This is accomplished by linking each level's unique identifying information together into "parent - child" relationships. The aggregation process is key to establishing a traceable supply chain, ensuring that all products are properly accounted for and safe for the customer.
